splayed great coffins and statues from every period.\par
In the rooms are located the coffins of the different pharaohs of the New Kingdom, among these the mummies of Ramesses II, his father Sethi I and of Amenhotep III, with many others including mummi
es of animals of every kind, dogs, cats, as well as crocodiles and mongooses.\par
The most famous collection in the museum is by far Tutankhamun's Treasure, the New Kingdom pharaoh, whose tomb was discovered almost intact in the Valley of the Kings,by t
he American archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922.\par
